As part of this course, you will learn how to write meal plans for a variety of clients.
The purpose of this is to give a client examples of what a days eating could look like, ensuring that it meets that client's energy and nutrient needs. Our meal planning course explains in what situations a meal plan might be beneficial and what precautions need to be considered.
You will not be qualified to write meal plans for clients with medical conditions.

The nutrition profession encompasses many levels of expertise and a wide variety of career possibilities.
Nutritionists and dieticians have very similar job roles and there is considerable overlap in what they do. In general, dieticians tend to be more clinical and more involved in working with people with diet-related medical conditions. Nutritionists are more likely to work in research, the food industry, community projects and preventative health. However, you do find nutritionists who work in hospitals and dieticians who work in the food industry. Dieticians and nutritionists normally have degree-level qualifications.
In addition to nutritionists and dieticians, there are nutrition advisers, health trainers, personal trainers, wellness coaches, slimming group leaders and weight loss coaches who all practice nutrition to varying degrees and can have a number of possible qualifications.
Most members of the general public will only get referred to a nutritionist or dietician if they have a relatively serious health problem, yet there are millions of people in the UK who are overweight and suffering the consequences of a poor diet. Nutrition advisers are often much more accessible to the general public and have all the skills needed to advise and motivate individuals on how to eat better, move more, lose weight and improve their health.
When embarking on a career in nutrition it is important to choose a course with a reputable training company. Many companies sell poor quality training courses in nutrition that are not evidence-based and not recognised by any official awarding body. We are proud to have our courses independently recognised by the Association for Nutrition and awarding organisations such as the Royal Society of Public Health. This means that our students can have full confidence that their training is of the highest quality and will fully equip them for working in the nutrition arena.
Our e-learning courses are an engaging combination of text, images and video and also include a range of downloadable resources to enhance your studies. Our nutrition tutor support team are on hand by email and phone to answer any questions you may have and ensure you are fully supported and on track.
You will be fully equipped to work as a nutrition and weight loss professional. You can help clients improve their diet and lose weight through one-to-one consultations or by running weight loss classes. Alternatively, you can use your nutrition skills in a range of job roles such as a community food support worker, dietetic assistant or health trainer.
There are no formal or mandatory requirements, other than being at least 16 years old. It would be beneficial if you had experience of weight management and nutrition by attending professional classes. If you don't have the experience, that's not a problem - you will just need to ensure that you give yourself more time to complete the home-study activities.
In order to become a registered nutritionist, you will need to complete a university degree. Future Fit offer an alternative yet comprehensive path to becoming a nutrition professional. For more information why not read our article on how to become a Nutrition Coach.

However, students can also set their own training hours and they will be qualified to work in the industry as soon as they successfully pass each module/assessment:
For the Level 2 Gym InstructorCourse, students normally take three months, including home study and practical elements.
For the Level 3 Personal Trainer Course, most students take up to 6 months to fully qualify and then they are ready to charge £30/hour.
We will continue to upskill them for another 6 months. This course also includes home study and practical weekends to attend.
Personal Training involves hiring a Personal Trainer to help a client meet their fitness goals, through the knowledge, skills, and abilities personal trainers possess. A personal trainer is a fitness professional who designs exercise programs and instructs exercise to help people achieve their fitness goals, which will often include weight loss, improving sports performance, or managing a health condition. They do this by working with people on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting.
The Personal training industry has seen continuous growth with a drop in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning as an industry new trends were adopted. There has been increased attention to health, before COVID 19 fitness was angled on the physical aspect however there is now more of a focus on the connection between fitness and the immune system as a whole.
When you complete this course you will gain an Ofqual-recognised level 4 qualification, which is accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health. This course is also certified by the Association for Nutrition (AfN) at Level 4 of the Health and Social Care Framework.
The qualification you'll receive at the end of your course will be awarded by Transcend. Transcend Awards are proud to be recognised by Ofqual as a regulated and industry specialist awarding organisation. Our courses are also fully CIMSPA approved.
Future Fit Training were the CPD launch partners with CIMSPA. Being CIMSPA certified means you will work in a respected industry, where standards are regulated, and your qualifications are valued.

As requirements vary from country to country, we'd recommend you visit The European Register of Exercise Professionals (EREPS) website: https://www.ereps.eu/
You will be emailed this on successful completion of either your Nutrition and Weight Management course or once you have successfully completed your Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor Course or Level 3 Exercise Programming and Coaching assessments.
Anyone from the age of 16 can enrol and complete any of our non-practical e-learning courses. Practical courses can only be attended on or after your 18th birthday but can be enrolled on and booked in advance of this.
Many gyms will accept applicants of 16 years of age, but be aware that if you are planning to work outside of clubs or leisure centres as a Personal Trainer, an Exercise to Music Instructor or a Pilates Teacher, you may not be eligible for the required insurance until you are 18 years old or over.
For more information on course entry requirements and admissions please contact one of our Careers Advisers who will be happy to answer any of your questions.
No, whilst we do recommend becoming a CIMSPA member, it is not compulsory for joining Pro Zone. You can still enjoy all of the benefits the platform has to offer whilst enhancing your knowledge and skills.
The Pro Zone is aimed primarily at Personal Trainers as the content is aimed at building on their existing knowledge. However, if you are level 2 trained, such as a Gym Instructor, or working up to your Personal
Trainer qualifications, you would still be welcome to join the Pro Zone, but you would need to be aware that some of the content may not be relevant to you or may build on knowledge you have not yet developed.
You can advertise your professional services as a Nutrition and Weight Loss Adviser or Consultant. You won't be able to call yourself a dietician or nutritionist as this implies you have a relevant degree level qualification.
E-learning is the process of using a computer to complete all or part of a course. E-learning content can include text, images, animation, audio and video and is now an integral method of teaching students all over the globe.
Our award-winning online personal training courses offer a variety of levels and intensities depending on individual experience and professional training. While there is no such thing as an ideal Personal Trainer or an ideal background, in our experience, the most successful Personal Trainers tend to have the following three characteristics:
Fearless Personal Training is a job for extroverts. You'll be in a busy, noisy space all day, and you'll be surrounded by people constantly. If you want to work as a Personal Trainer, you have to enjoy talking to people, putting yourself in a public-facing space on the gym floor or online, and building up the confidence and resilience to continue to market your skills to your community. A key characteristic of a fearless Personal Trainer is a passion for continuously building their skills and pushing their business further, opening up new client bases, and looking for new ways to help those around them hit their fitness goals.
Impactful The reality is that life as a Personal Trainer requires effort and commitment to build up a client base and deliver a fantastic service over and over again. You will constantly be going the extra mile, doing more than just what the industry experts do, and making a real impact.
Trusted - If you want clients to trust you and listen to you, they have to know that you genuinely care about them. This comes from building a genuine connection with all your clients, understanding what they're hoping to achieve with their sessions, and having the confidence that you have the skills to help them get there.
All of our courses will run on Windows-based PCs, Apple macs and iPads. We test our courses in a range of browsers but for best results we recommend that you use the latest version of Google Chrome.
Our nutrition courses are certified by the Association for Nutrition, the professional association that defines the standards for the training, practice and continuing professional development of nutrition professionals.
Our Nutrition and Weight Management course is endorsed by VTCT.
All of our courses are recognised by CIMSPA and the Register of Exercise Professionals and carry CPD points for those who are registered with these organisations.

Our courses have been designed to study both part-time and full-time for all of our students, therefore the best way to work out how much time you need to study is to work out how many hours a week you can dedicate.

Rather than trying to maintain long lists of browsers, operating systems, devices and versions, Flex adopts a usage share approach for browser compatibility.
Flex is compatible with the latest versions of web browsers from Google, Microsoft, Apple and Firefox on vendor-supported versions of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. For older and less popular browsers (a version of a browser with less than 1% usage share) functionality degrades gracefully where possible. For example, whereas Flex may support drag and drop in the latest version of a browser, this feature may degrade into a simpler way to achieve the same outcome in an old browser.
Based on usage share, this means that as of February 2023, Flex will support:
Google Chrome, version 108 or later
Microsoft Edge, version 109 or later
Apple Safari, version 15.6 or later
Mozilla Firefox, version 109 or later
Browsers older than those listed above cannot be guaranteed
to work with Flex, but we make every effort to ensure it will, where reasonable with regards to the technology available, in line with our approach to degraded functionality.
Additionally, Flex cannot guarantee the browser compatibility of SCORM eLearning modules themselves, which are deemed “uploaded content”. For this reason, Flex cannot ensure SCORM files display and function as intended by the publisher (to which you should refer to their own policy) but Flex can ensure that SCORM eLearning modules are at least delivered to the learner, in line with our approach to degraded functionality.
Flex can only support browsers “as released” by vendors, without modification. This means that Flex cannot account for any additional functionality or unintended consequences as the result of the user installing and enabling third-party browser extensions and plugins.
In some cases, these extensions can “interfere” with the intended functionality of a website, such as modifying the user interface or preventing data from transferring between client and server; whether intentionally or not. Ad Blockers (for example) are known to do both of these things (legitimately) but can do so with unintended consequences.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure Flex remains fully functionality alongside the installation of such extensions, it is not possible to guarantee it due to the enormous set of possible third-party plugins.
Our general recommendation, especially if users experience any unexpected behaviour, is to disable browser extensions or whitelist Flex’s URL from your Ad Blocker(s) so that your extensions remain enabled for other websites.
Flex will never serve ad-network advertisements to learners, or give learners a reason to run a Ad Blocker whilst using Flex, so disabling Ad Blockers will not result in the undesired delivery of ads.
All personal data stored in Flex is stored in the UK and remains within the UK when being accessed. For information such as user data, training portfolios and learner progress, we use one of the largest and most well-recognised database providers in the UK.
Flex databases run within a private network, isolating communication between each of our servers and ensuring data is encrypted in transit (with SSL) as well as at rest (with LUKS).

Your Course progress should track across multiple devices when logged in. If not, it may be that your browser settings are preventing this. To learn more about this, you can access our full troubleshooting guide, available via the Resource Centre in your Student Zone.
Complete the training as soon as possible. The deadline dates are typically set so that you are able to progress in your course at a steady pace. In some cases, this is because you must complete the work before your practical workshop or assessment days. If you have questions or think that your training shouldn't be overdue. Please raise a support request, and we will get a member of the learner services team to assist you.
Some courses require you to have completed prior learning before moving on. This ensures you have all the knowledge required to understand and succeed in upcoming modules. If you feel there is an error or mistake. Please contact us so we can clarify if you need to complete the prior learning.
Oh no, we work hard to exterminate all those pesky bugs. If you've managed to find one, please use the feedback button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. You will have tools to screenshot, record and add notes about your issue so our technical team can best diagnose the bug and get it fixed ASAP. The more information, such as the browser and device type you can give us, the quicker we'll be able to help you.
In the first instance, please use the support feature in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, and a member of the learner services team will reach out to you. Alternatively, you can email us at support@futurefit.co.uk.
When you log in to Flex, you'll see all your training on the home page. You'll also be able to find a helpful getting started video that will show you where to find your training. Each time you log in, you'll find a section called 'Jump Back In', which will include anything you've started but not completed.
Points are assigned to certain pieces of training. These are usually related to CPD points. You will see this listed at the top of your learning dashboard. In some cases, the number of points you achieve will be used to track progress towards completing a module, collection or entire course.
Within your Flex account, you can access any completed awards and certificates in the 'Awards Section' in the main menu. From here, you'll be able to see progress towards awards you are eligible for and download your certificates.
A module is an individual part of an overall course. This may be in the form of an e-Learning file, a video or a document. A collection is where we group together modules to form a course or unit within a course. The most important thing for you as a learner is to know that Flex will manage the order of your learning where possible, so as long as you get started, Flex will direct you to which piece of training you need to complete next.
Everything you have assigned to you will be in your account under the library. From there, you can use the search function to find the collection or module you want to complete.
You must log in to your Student Zone account to access your training. From here, you will be able to click through to your training and access your modules.
You can access our Recommended Study Schedule guide via the Resource Centre on your Student Zone. This details the recommended order in which to complete our courses.

At the point of enrolment, you are given 12 months to complete your Nutrition training. However, as long as you are actively training i.e. regularly logging into your e-Learning, keeping in contact with us etc., we will keep your account open.
We would recommend scheduling your dates as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment. Depending on the courses you have purchased, you may have a blend of online learning and practical sessions. We recommend watching the Student Zone tutorial video which can be found within the "Resource Centre" for further information.

We allow 14 days from the point of enrolment for cancellations, please note that there may be charges depending on what content you have accessed/completed. After this point cancellations are not permitted (if you believe there to be extenuating circumstances, please email support@futurefit.co.uk with any supporting evidence and they will review your case individually).
You can access our Recommended Study Schedule guide via the Resource Centre on your Student Zone. This details the recommended order in which to complete our courses.
Our courses generally run 9am - 5:30pm unless specified otherwise on your Student Zone. For example, if it says your workshop starts on day 1 at 9am and finishes on day 2 at 12:30pm, this means the workshop shall run 9am - 5:30pm on day 1, and 9am - 12:30pm on day 2.
If you haven't completed an online element that you have scheduled and should have completed, we would recommend that you complete this as a priority and reschedule your future booked dates accordingly to allow ample time for you to complete this. If you are concerned about any knock-on effect this may have on your learning, please contact Support.
This will vary depending on the assessment you are looking to complete, but some general guidance is:
Practical assessment = The time frame between your workshop and assessment is there to allow you time to put what you have learnt into practice and prepare for your practical assessment. We would recommend that you utilize this time to suitably prepare.
Online assessment = With online learning, you can complete the online assessments as soon as you are ready and completed the necessary online learning.
Your Student Zone password is preset and randomized in order to ensure that your account remains secure. Due to this, you can not choose an alternative password. If you forget your password, you can reset this by choosing forgotten password on the login page for your Student Zone.
Course progress should track across multiple devices when logged in. If not, it may be that your browser settings are preventing this, to learn more about this you can access our full troubleshooting guide which is available via the Resource Centre on your Student Zone.
In order to change your future bookings, it is best to unschedule the course you are looking to rebook as well as any future dates, this is because the course you are trying to rebook may be a prerequisite for another one of your courses. You can then rebook them using the Recommended Study Schedule. If you still encounter an error, please contact our support team.
You will be emailed this on successful completion of either your Nutrition and Weight Management course or once you have successfully completed your Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor Course or Level 3 Exercise Programming and Coaching assessments.
Due to social distancing guidelines you will not be able to perform Assisted Stretches at this point in time. Therefore, you will need to find suitable alternative exercises to enable safe, effective and appropriate application for the client. And adjust your coaching style to utilise better verbal cues.
You should encourage the client to clean the equipment they use, as they need to get used to this habit for when they exercise solo. However, you can also ensure hygiene by doing this for them at times.
You need to revisit the Student Update Area on the website regularly, as this is where we will update you on any changes to our training.
Equally, you should keep an eye on the current status and guidance from the government and contact your Training Co-ordinator for confirmation.
Once you have enrolled on one of our courses, you will find that each individual training module within your programme has a recommended time frame for completion. These time frames have been developed to encourage you to succeed and ensure you become qualified.
The overall deadline to complete your course will be dependent on the courses you have purchased. Please refer to your enrolment form and the terms and conditions to see the relevant deadlines.

Pro Zone is a private community where you can interact and learn from fellow members, including other fitness professionals, Future Fit master trainers and guest partners.
You can look forward to regular videos, articles, discussions, links to useful resources and access to all recorded webinars. Expect to be challenged with follow up tasks and activities to help you implement the knowledge.
There are no actual tests involved in joining the Pro Zone. However, you will need to complete a simple 3 question test in order to gain CPD points at the end of accredited webinars if you choose to participate. This test should only take a couple of minutes.
You will be able to view the Venue, Tutor and times for your practical workshop / assessment from the My Courses section on the student zone. This is a CPD course that aims to raise awareness of the condition and provide you with information that will assist you in supporting people during their COVID-19 journey. The course content is sufficiently mapped to the CIMSPA Working with People with Long Term Conditions standard to obtain 3 CPD points.
The content is based on current guidance and research, and previous qualifications that cover associated side effects and considerations, such as working with people with various respiratory conditions.
The content included is validated within its own field. Any content that is specific to COVID-19 alone has been evidenced from peer-reviewed journals as it emerges. Additionally, the course has been reviewed by various senior health and exercise professionals, all of whom are qualified in their respective fields.
As with any emerging conditions or disease, research must be undertaken, and then best practice is designed. Current research is observed within this training and updates to content will be made when available.
We will be continually reviewing the research and updating the course accordingly, you can continue to access your training and re-do it when any updates occur all included with your one off payment.
The novel nature of COVID-19 means that research is obviously limited and still evolving. However, the course has a small volume of information about the potential considerations for those suffering from Long COVID based on the currently available literature.
This CPD course uses current literature and existing best practice to provide you with an outline of the basic skills that will be useful and should be considered when working with people who have had COVID-19.
Rather than focusing on what you should do as regards rehabilitating COVID-19 patients, this course addresses the known factors that need to be taken into consideration when looking to advise those people about physical activity and exercise.
Such factors will not apply to everyone, but are outlined in similar, accredited, and registered qualifications and professional standards within the industry such as CIMSPA Working with People with Long Term Conditions standard and previous Level 4 courses such as Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
The specific knowledge and skills required are not taught or explained during standard Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications, yet there is a large expectancy that the fitness industry will be able to support local clinical teams in the rehabilitation process, or that fitness professionals will come into contact with individuals who have largely recovered from COVID-19, but may be experiencing some ongoing effects.
As such, fundamentals like breathing techniques, fatigue management, functional assessments and basic exercise prescription is covered to upskill those expected to be working with these people to raise awareness of the issues they may encounter.
This course is for anyone with an interest in mental wellbeing and wished to enhance their knowledge into a career. This course is especially useful for people in the health sector such as sports centres and schools.

It allows you to work in an employed position with gym members and get experience of working in a gym setting and with clients. A Personal Trainer will have at least a Level 3 qualification, more advanced learning that enables them to provide tailored fitness plans to individuals. Nutrition is about eating a healthy and balanced diet. Food and drink provide the energy and nutrients you need to be healthy. Those that decide to study nutrition, learn the fundamentals of how food works with the body’s needs, which provides them with the knowledge they need to provide valuable advice and guidance to clients.
Work with people who want to improve their diet in order to optimise their health, lose weight, or achieve a specific exercise-related goal. You will not be able to work with clients who have medical conditions that require specialised dietary advice as this is the role of a dietitian.
As part of this course, you will learn how to write meal plans for a variety of clients.
The purpose of this is to give a client examples of what a days eating could look like, ensuring that it meets that client's energy and nutrient needs. It isn't about prescribing a set way of eating that the client must follow as this approach is rarely the most effective way of helping clients establish long term behaviour change. Our meal planning course explains in what situations a meal plan might be beneficial and what precautions need to be considered.
You will not be qualified to write meal plans for clients with medical conditions.
There are some roles within the NHS where this nutrition qualification would be beneficial including health trainers, dietetic assistant practitioners and community food workers. You won't be able to work as a nutritionist or dietitian within the NHS.

All of the School of Nutrition courses are online which means that you can study at a time and pace to suit you. If you can spare just 6 hours per week you can complete the Nutrition and Weight Management Course in less than 20 weeks. If you have more free time to study, then you can complete the diploma in a much shorter timeframe.

Once you've opted for one of the three start dates of the Access to HE program (September, January or May) our custom-built learning platform offers you complete flexibility, whether you want to study for twelve hours a week or fit the learning around your existing work and time commitments.

It can also be applied in sporting as well as non-sporting circumstances as it helps people with different lifestyles deal with an injury or chronic pain. Sports massage therapy manipulates the musculoskeletal system – ligaments, muscles, and tendons using different techniques for enhanced efficiency.
